To the Editor:
Brooklyn: In view of your Dec. 29 editorial "Port
Authority's downtown scam": Can we really trust them? Check out
the Bayonne Bridge work. The new concrete road surface is wearing
away so fast they had to cover it with another thin asphalt
coating. And you can still feel the bumps. The painted metal work
is showing rust barely two months after painting, even with two
coats. The overall work is costing more than $20 million. Yet
we're going to let them rebuild the WTC site with millions more.
Yeah, right!
